The Northcentral Technical College SAC-IT Technical Diploma is comprised of 37 credits. The program equips individuals with essential skills and knowledge specific to substance abuse counseling and recovery while encompassing all educational prerequisite required for licensing in the state of WI. Rachel's decision to pursue an education in this field was inspired by a loved one's SUD and the immense growth she discovered on a personal level through the Al-Anon program. She's chosen to apply what she has learned as life skills and not pursue a career in SAC at this time.

The David Grove Method
3 year apprenticeship

After going through her own experience with this method in a therapeutic environment and gaining awareness and respect for its effectiveness, Rachel completed a facilitator training and apprenticeship under the supervision of advanced practitioner and therapist JoKasha Klest, LCSW. While this method can be found in traditional therapy, it can also be found in life-coaching as well as school and corporate settings as a technique used to address self-determination, problem solving, decision making, and community building.

Rachel completed this training under the guidance of Mariabruna Sirabella, LMFT, MFT, after experiencing the effectiveness of SoulCollage for herself. She fell in love with the creative, expressive, and healing nature of the method and the way it helps her to make new associations based while honoring her essential self.

Meditation and Mindfulness Certification (AMA Accredited)

Rachel completed this training under the guidance of Dr. Itai Ivtzan, the founder of the school and a renowned positive psychologist, who teaches and conducts research at Naropa University within the MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling Mindfulness-Based program. Still dedicated to practicing meditation and mindfulness herself, she most recently participated in a 4-day silent meditation retreat led by James Baraz, the author of "Awakening Joy."

Yoga Teacher Training

Rachel pursued her Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) after receiving a scholarship from the studio where she honed her practice. The program drew inspiration from her teacher's transformative journey studying yoga across India, Asia, and Europe, along with her education from Naropa University. Under the guidance of Marci Zink, who holds a master's degree in somatic psychology, Rachel deepened her understanding of yoga and its profound impact on the mind and body. This experience equipped her with the tools to share the wisdom of yoga with others.
Beyond the practice of yoga, SoulCollage, and continuing education to support her role as a facilitator, Rachel enjoys hiking, being in nature, native and natural gardening, good food and traveling.
